Asking A Question about Design Process at Creative Mornings in Brisbane to help with curiosity

CHLOE WICKHAM

I compose visuals using strategic design solutions that drive sustainable business growth. Through intentional branding and graphic design, I help organisations reimagine their impact—creating compelling visual identities that communicate a brand's essence with a proactive change. My approach blends creative excellence with strategic insight, turning design into a powerful tool for sustainable change and business development.

MY STORY

My journey began like many others, with no knowledge of design and a simple desire to be a “graphic designer.” Through my studies at Griffith University, where I earned a Bachelor of Business and Design, and my in-house, studio and freelance experience, I have come to understand the true impact design can have on society. This realisation sparked a mission to harness design and its use within business and society to persuade change.

  • In my work, I strive to blend creativity, business and innovation, with a strong focus on empowering individuals and communities to inspire meaningful behavioral change.

Recently I have worked part-time as a Graphic Designer for Social Marketing at Griffith University, where I develop some of their digital and physical assets for research-driven projects. I've also had the opportunity to work on a mural project, and I’m excited to explore more creative ventures like this in the future.

Outside of design, you'll likely find me painting, photographing, drawing, working out at the gym, or spending time in nature. I’m also proud of maintaining a 1000-day streak on Duolingo! Additionally, I enjoy volunteering at events like ATypeI and attending design-focused gatherings such as Creative Mornings, Brand Builder Summit, The Design Conference, and TDK events. These experiences have enriched my understanding of diverse design philosophies, while connecting me with incredible people in the industry.

Mural Project

This mural aimed to focus on how society is heavily shaped by external influences, often leading us to strive for an unrealistic ideal of perfection or conform to societal standards. In the process, we tend to forget the importance of embracing our true selves and taking pride in our origins.

The mural serves as a reminder to prioritize authenticity and encourages us to embrace our unique paths rather than trying to be someone else. It aims to alleviate stress and convey the message that we are not alone in this journey of self-discovery.
